SUMMARY:Free Webinar June 10: Doing Business with the State of Virginia
DESCRIPTION:This event is hosted by Vienna but is open to all businesses.\n\n\n\nEach year the Commonwealth buys goods and services totaling more than $7 billion. Learn how to do business with Virginia.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs we move through the recovery phase\, it is important to consider new business models and revenue opportunities to grow small businesses. One opportunity that small businesses in all industries should consider is how to work with the Commonwealth of Virginia.\n\n\n\nDuring this webinar\, join the Town of Vienna Economic Development Office and the Vienna Business Association as we discuss doing business with the Commonwealth with Chris Ley\, business services manager\, with the Virginia Department of Small Business & Supplier Diversity.\n\nChris will inform entrepreneurs and business owners about the benefits of working with Virginia's procurement agency and how to position your business to obtain contracts with the state. The discussion will include learning about the application process for SWaM certifcation (Small\, Women and Minority-owned businesses) and how to become a registered vendor in the eVA system (Virginia's eProcurement Portal).\n\nAbout Chris Ley\n\nChris has worked with small businesses since 2007 when she joined a small\, women-owned marketing company\, Asian Marketing Services\, as their director of business development. She started two new successful small business training programs at Northern Virginia Community College: the SWaM program and the Entrepreneur Roadmap program.
