New Yarn Shop “Entangled” Opens in Falls Church, VA with Strong Community Support
Falls Church, VA – August 25, 2025 —Entangled, a new veteran and woman-owned Local Yarn Shop (LYS), will open its doors on September 6, 2025 at 103 Rowell Court in Falls Church, VA. Founded by Falls Church local, Kelly Schnapp, Entangled is designed to be more than a retail shop — it’s a community hub for mindful creativity, escape from everyday stress, and connection. From the very beginning, Entangled has been shaped and supported by the Falls Church community. Channeling skills and experience from a career in military and government protecting people from their work environment and the natural environment from people. She is enjoying the freedom of creative entrepreneurship, building a space rooted in joy, community, and connection.
"From our first pop-up events to preparing the brick-and-mortar space, the community has offered nothing but encouragement." Kelly shared. "Fellow small business owners have also been instrumental: Andrea of Happy Tails dog daycare, the Shirine of Ladan Spa, and Lisa of Pho Cyclo, generously gave advice and support." The Falls Church Chamber of Commerce has also played a vital role, offering resources and guidance that lifted Kelly through the process of opening her doors. Other friends, like the founder of For Small Businesses Only (FSBO), provided critical considerations that are often overlooked when starting out — including how crucial building small business credit from the start is to operating a sound business long term.
The shop will offer an extensive selection of premium materials and specializes in eco-conscious yarns. Entangled is the only shop to offer Expression Fiber Arts yarn for in-person purchase — previously available only online — and will feature 69 colors of high-quality, traceable American Shetland wool, perfect for Fair Isle knitting. Customers will also find a complete range of hooks and needles, along with inspiration cards to help knitters and crocheters of all levels turn their ideas into finished projects. The store's unique "idea room" provides a dedicated space where customers can brainstorm projects, seek advice, or simply enjoy the company of fellow fiber artists in a welcoming environment. Beyond retail, Entangled will host regular classes and workshops, starting with Beginner Knitting with Gwen on September 7 from 1:00–3:00 PM.
“Today we were putting yarn on the shelves with my friend Andrea, her brother, her cousin, and Maggie, who painstakingly set up our new point of sale system,” said Kelly. “I want to send the message that community is at the heart of Entangled.
